Katherine Kruger

Attorney Katherine Kruger joined Kammer Law Office, S.C., in April of 2012. Since joining the office, she has focused her practice primarily on family law, bankruptcy, and real estate matters. Additionally, Katherine is also a trained and certified legal mediator.

Katherine graduated from the Portage High School in 1993. She then earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa in 1997. While at Cornell College, she majored in politics and philosophy. From there, she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2000.

While at law school, Katherine participated in the LAIP project (Legal Assistance to Institutionalized Persons). She was assigned to FCI Oxford, and primarily did legal research to determine whether or not an individual had a viable legal claim. After LAIP, she participated in the Family Law Project where she worked with various state inmates on their family law cases, which included filing pleadings, conducting research, and appearing in court.

After her second year of law school, Katherine was employed as a law clerk at the Ho-Chunk Nation Trial Court in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Upon graduation from law school, her first job was being the Staff Attorney for the Ho-Chunk Nation Trial Court. She performed research, assisted the public in accessing the court system, and completed other work as assigned by the judges.

After her job as the Staff Attorney, Katherine joined the Ritger Law Office in Random Lake (Sheboygan County), Wisconsin. Her work at the Ritger Law Office included family law cases, criminal defense, bankruptcy work, and real estate matters. It also took her to several counties, including Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Washington, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Dodge, and Milwaukee.

She left the Ritger Law Office to join Kammer Law Office in April of 2012. This was largely a result of her desire to return home to Portage. Having been born and raised in Portage, her family remained in the area, and she had recently been married, and her husband’s children and family were in the area. Her work here also takes her to a number of different counties, including Columbia, Marquette, Sauk, and Adams. Katherine is happily married, and between herself and her husband, they have a number of adult children, and one minor child. They also have a number of grandchildren. In her free time, you can find Katherine spending time with her family, volunteering with the local Girl Scout troop as her daughter is a member, and winning at Bingo.
